Athena Uslander, formerly a structural engineer, brings the same concern for detail and quality to her Silverland bakery that she used to apply to bridge design. Everything has to be just right! Since she traded her hard hat for a baker’s hat in 1983 her Silverland desserts have become a Chicago sensation.
